THE HISTORY OF THE ITALTRANS GROUP
Efficient, punctual, reliable
In forty years of business, we have grown by diversifying our services to offer each customer a complete range of solutions and to position ourselves on the market as a comprehensive partner. From transport to storage, goods hold no secrets for us.
1985
It is the 1980s, the years of the new economic boom. Claudio and Germano Bellina and Laura Bertulessi stand out in the business world for delivering the best fruit and vegetables from the Bergamo area to Milan.
1986
Just one year after being born, temperature-controlled fresh transport is inaugurated. From fruit and vegetables to dairy products, more and more agri-food products are being delivered by Italtrans.
1992
Italtrans acquires GB Trasporti, with which it creates a dedicated workshop for vehicle maintenance.
Italtrans’s journey here begins to become a group journey, in which each company best deals with the production and management chain.
1997
Italtrans saw its fleet grow exponentially, from one vehicle in 1985 to 10 in 1986 and 100 in 1997.
At the dawn of the new millennium, the company was ready to take on new challenges across the country.
2000
In 2000, Italtrans built its first warehouses and launched a new service for its customers: room-temperature food logistics.
2003
In 2003, logistics for the fresh produce sector was launched. In 2004, the company expanded into frozen foods and inaugurated multi-temperature transport. Italtrans Racing Team entered the Dakar Rally in the truck category.
2012
Responding to new shopping habits created by the advent of the internet, a new home delivery service is launched.
2014
The administrative headquarters in Calcinate is officially opened. A gem of design and technology, it embodies Italtrans’ entire business philosophy: a focus on innovation, sustainability, and high quality.
2017
The early 2000s saw technology grow at an ever-increasing pace. In Calcio, a Logistics 4.0 hub was inaugurated, which still stands out today for its process automation, which benefits efficiency.
2018
Italtrans acquires Mazzocco, a company with consolidated know-how in last-mile distribution networks. This step allows the group to complete its offering by opening up to companies in the Ho.Re.Ca. sector.
2020
In the midst of the Covid-19 emergency, Italtrans is allocating funds to healthcare in Bergamo, delivering essential goods seven days a week and supporting projects throughout Italy. With the Jerusalema Challenge, it is sending a message of life and hope, a tangible sign of Bergamo’s attitude of never giving up.
2024
The family grows with the acquisition of Frigor Trasporti Orobico, which specializes in fresh-cut produce, and Deliverit, a company already part of the Italtrans world, active in the field of home grocery delivery. With the creation of Logistica Italtrans and the expansion
of Kamila’s workforce, the group specializes in handling activities.
