Italtrans confirms and extends its 14001 environmental certification for the Group’s sites<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In October, Italtrans renewed and extended its environmental certification for several logistics and transport depots. This result was achieved through teamwork involving numerous departments and coordinated by the Cross-Functional Processes and Internal Audit offices of the Business Process Engineering department.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The team brought in the Logistics Department, area managers, the managers of the Calcio and Calcinate warehouses, the Security Department, the Technical Office (for managing plant certifications and related deadlines), General Services, and the Purchasing Office (for relations with suppliers and the waste supply chain).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to continuing the training program launched in 2022 for logistics staff, the work plan focused on important structural interventions aimed at efficiently managing the waste chain. At Calcinate 2, for example, two areas were set up for the use of compactors and a green area was introduced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The audits were carried out by the Rina Authority and led to the achievement of new certification for the transport division and for the Calcinate 2 depot, as well as confirmation, through a surveillance audit, of the certification for the Calcio depot and for the administrative headquarters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Certifications are steps taken voluntarily by companies that recognize the values promised, in this case those of environmental policy, as their own, with the aim of improving performance in terms of sustainability by reducing the impact of their activities. The certification process is also recognized by the market as an important tool for recognition and competitive advantage because it attests to the commitment and quality levels achieved by companies. Customers, as the most interested stakeholders, can therefore be sure that the company is actively pursuing this path and maintaining high quality standards over time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The process of achieving environmental certification began four years ago, with the logistics hub in Calcio and the administrative headquarters in Calcinate, where the Italtrans Group committed to actively monitoring its organization from an environmental perspective. The issue of ecological transition has been central to industrial policy debate for years now, and is increasingly demanded by customers and financiers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
